President’s letter

We lived through the neighborhood fireworks!  My 65 pound poodle refused to go out for two days.

My one wish (Christmas in July) is that we could reach 35% of our households sending in the dues by the next newsletter.  The dues are $25 per year.  Please mail your dues to Harrison Hill, PO Box 10444, Fort Wayne, IN 46852-0444.   Contributions in addition to the dues are appreciated and tax deductible.  Currently 47 households have sent in their dues which is 21%.  Many have also made additional contributions which are very much appreciated.

The 26th National Night Out Against Crime is August 4th.  There is a celebration planned at Packard Park from 5-7 PM.  The illumination of porch lights is symbolic. Please turn your porch light on at 7 or 8 p.m.-regardless of whether or not darkness has fallen.  Our goal is to increase Concerned Citizen Watch (CCW) participation.  Please call Jim Davis (456-1087) if you are interested in participating once or twice a month for a few hours.

We are hoping to have a late summer get together and so far have volunteers for face painting and a puppet show as well as other ideas.  September was discussed at our meeting.

Thanks to all of the block captains that distribute the newsletters each month.  We plan to publish a newsletter every other month and distribute the minutes from our meetings in between.  We do have a vacancy for homes from 115 to 141 S. Cornell and 2004 to 320 S. Cornell on the North side.  I delivered them last month and enjoyed meeting several neighbors.

Our next meeting is at Grace St. Johns on August 4th at 7 PM.  Please come and join us to discuss any issues or just to meet your neighbors.

Please feel free to call me 456-1087 or Rone at 417-4136 or send an email about anything of concern about the neighborhood.    My email address is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
